Instructions
In a small saucepan, heat the 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 cup of sugar over medium-low heat. Stir frequently until the sugar is disolved, then remove from the heat and cool.
Juice the oranges until you have about 2 cups of pure orange juice. Use fresh, ripe oranges for the best flavor.
Just before serving, mix the syrup, orange juice and mineral water in a large pitcher. Add ice to the pitcher or glasses and enjoy immediately!
Notes
Chill the ingredients, including the syrup, before serving to keep it fizzy and prevent the ice from diluting the drink
Fresh juice matters—avoid store bought juice if possible
