Ingredients

For the Syrup:

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar

For the Drink:

  • 2 cups freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 2 cups mineral water San Pelligrino, Topo Chico, or other
  • 2-4 cups of ice

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, heat the 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 cup of sugar over medium-low heat. Stir frequently until the sugar is disolved, then remove from the heat and cool.
  • Juice the oranges until you have about 2 cups of pure orange juice. Use fresh, ripe oranges for the best flavor.
  • Just before serving, mix the syrup, orange juice and mineral water in a large pitcher. Add ice to the pitcher or glasses and enjoy immediately!

Notes

  • Chill the ingredients, including the syrup, before serving to keep it fizzy and prevent the ice from diluting the drink
  • Fresh juice matters—avoid store bought juice if possible
  • Serve immediately for maximum freshness and flavor
