Habanero and Mango Salsa

This Habanero and Mango salsa is a fresh and spicy twist on a simple pico de gallo. It's made using fresh mango, habanero, tomatoes, onion and cilantro to make a sweet and spicy salsa that is perfect on fish tacos or with chips.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 large mango
  • 2 Roma tomatoes
  • 1 habanero pepper
  • 1/4 red onion
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Peel and dice the mango into small cubes, about the size of peas. Finely dice the Roma tomatoes and red onion and cilantro.
  • Open the habanero pepper and remove the seeds and pith. Slice the habanero lengthwise into thin strips and then chop finely across the strips. You may want to wear glove during this step.
  • Place the mango, tomatoes, onion, habanero, cilantro, and salt in a bowl and gently toss until evenly combined.
  • Let the salsa rest for at least 10 minutes before serving.
